Introduction

On 20 februari, a first letter was distributed to all residents and entrepreneurs around the Royal Route. A second letter was distributed on March 31. This letter contains information about all measures surrounding the route. LRead the letter to the residents/entrpeneurs of the Blaak, Binnenrotte and surroundings. The letter was accompanied by an appendix with a list of the measures and a map.

Traffic closures

Wednesday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m., the following streets will be closed to traffic:

  • Verlengde Nieuwstraat (note: this is slowly closed from 7 a.m.!)
  • Blaak and all side streets between Churchillplein and Andre van der Louwbrug (Extended Willemsbrug)
  • Binnenrotte and side streets
  • Churchillplein and the Verlengde Willemsbrug intersection will remain open.

Thursday, April 27, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the street below will be closed to traffic:

  • Meent
  • Nieuwe Levebrug

Nieuwe Leuvebrug will be open on Thursday 27 April from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and will then be closed to traffic. During this closure, the Wijnhaven area will be difficult to reach.

Parking

On Wednesday 26 April from 00:00 until Thursday 27 April until 17:00 a parking ban applies in the streets below. The parking ban also applies to permit holders. Loading and unloading is also not allowed.

NB! Cars that are still in these streets at 7 a.m. on April 26 will be towed away. The costs thereof (€ 165) will be recovered from the owner of the car. You can avoid these costs by removing your car on time.

Parking for permit holders

Permit holders can park their car in all other sectors in the paid parking area in the center of Rotterdam from Tuesday 25 April to Friday 28 April. Holders of a disabled parking permit have been approached personally.

Parking garage Interparking at the Markthal

  • Wednesday, April 26, the garage will be completely closed to residents and visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • From 19:00 it is only possible to drive out until Thursday 27 April at 07:00
  • On Thursday 27 April, the parking garage will be completely closed from 07:00 to 14:00

Disabled parking permit

People with a disabled parking permit have been offered a solution.

Parking permit holders living in streets where parking is prohibited

They can park their car in all other sectors in the paid parking area in the center of Rotterdam from Tuesday 25 April to Friday 28 April.

Public transport

Wednesday April 26 and Thursday April 27

Some bus and tram lines are diverted due to King's Day. The subway runs as usual. Visit www.ret.nl for information. The NS runs according to the timetable and also stops at Blaak Station.

Bicycles

Disturbingly parked bicycles along the walking route and/or in the above streets will be removed. Urgent advice to temporarily park the bicycle in a different place. Removed bicycles, mopeds and scooters go to the Bicycle Point. They are stored there for a maximum of 13 weeks. You then pay €20 for your bicycle/moped or scooter. Garbage collection

On Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 April, a number of waste containers will not be accessible or will be closed. Consult the neighborhood container map for the nearest open container. Accessibility to shops and restaurants Businesses in the vicinity of the route can remain open on King's Day. Entrepreneurs should take into account that traffic measures will apply in the area on 26 and 27 April. Motor vehicles (cars, trucks, scooters, etc.) can no longer enter the cordoned off area. This also applies to suppliers.

Other activities

Along the route and in surrounding neighborhoods, some plant bowls or traffic signs will be temporarily removed. Of course, these are simply put back in place afterwards.

King's Day Festival

The Royal walking route ends on Thursday 27 April on the Binnenrotte. That day the square will be renamed a cozy King's Day festival site. A permit has been issued for the festival on the Binnenrotte. Conditions for music are included in the permit. These regulations state, among other things, which noise level applies. Frequently asked questions

There are various facilities along the royal route, such as toilets, first aid posts and disabled sections. Look at the map with the route to see where the facilities can be found.

The Loyens en Loeff garage, Dominee Jan Scharpstraat entrance, is closed on King's Day. The parking garage of the Markthal is also closed (see Markthal). The other parking garages are open.

 

The construction work will start on Tuesday 25 April. From Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April, there will be a reduction.

We try to limit the nuisance as much as possible.

To clear the route for the walk and to allow the public and the party to proceed safely, it is important that obstacles are temporarily removed. These will of course be replaced afterwards.

On Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 April, a number of containers in your neighborhood will be unavailable or closed. This means that you have to take your household waste to another container. The nearest open container can be found at: https://www.rotterdam.nl/plattegrond-wijkcontainers.
